City of Signals

My good friend Josh (AKA Endurance) just released his first full-length album on Illuminated paths. Some slightly dark ambient, reminiscent of Sinoia Caves "The Enchanter Persuaded" or early Oneohtrix Point Never ("Betrayed in the Octagon", perhaps).

This was mastered by my good self, and was my first time to do someone else`s work. I think it turned out pretty well, but I`ll leave that up to you to judge!

Cassettes available from the Illuminated Paths Bandcamp.

The "Sunspot" Octaver

A very belated happy New Year to y`all! I`ve been working on a new EP so I haven`t dedicated as much time to electronics as I really wanted to. Here`s a cool little guy I made over the holidays...

This is a Behringer Octaver Pedal that`s been jacked to the nines! It`s got three boost switches - the far left one is a small boost to the higher octave, the second one is a treble boost to the bottom octave, and the far right switch is a massive bass boost to the bottom octave!

I took this sucker down to a studio in town and plugged it into the bass cab, the thing shook the walls so hard that you could almost see the sound pressure!

Here is a mish-mash of my recordings that day, I think I may have had the low-cut on the mics turned on (silly me), but I think you get the idea. It also produces a pretty sweet "ripping" sound on some settings, in this case it`s my taishogoto I believe.
